Saturday morning at Chapel Point State Park couldn’t have been better — a mild fall day and an incredible crew of volunteers ready to get to work.
From Boy Scouts earning service badges to the McDonough Honor Society team to families and neighbors who simply wanted to help, the turnout was amazing. And thanks to everyone’s effort, the Port Tobacco River is a little cleaner, a little healthier and a little better prepared for the season ahead.
We gathered trash, cleared debris from the shoreline and trails, and enjoyed great conversation along the way. Most importantly, we were reminded what happens when a community shows up with purpose.
Scroll through the photos below to relive the morning — and to see what a meaningful difference you helped create.
Thank you to everyone who came out to support the river we all love.
We can’t wait to see you at the next one.
